Treatment
The Accent is a safe, clinically proven way to tighten your skin. It is fast, safe and effective. The Accent uses radio frequency (RF) energy to heat collagen in the lower layers of the skin, tightening your existing collagen and stimulating new collagen growth. It requires no incisions, injections or recovery time and the results can last for years.
How the Accent works
If you take a look at a cross section of human skin, you will notice that it is made up of three distinct layers. A visible outer layer called the epidermis. A collagen-rich under layer or dermis, and an inner fat layer with collagen fibers, called the subcutaneous.
When the collagen in these three layers decreases due to the aging process, the skin looses its elasticity and begins to sag and wrinkle. The Accent heats the skin’s under layer and helps renew the body’s collagen. It improves symptoms through deep dermal heating, increased blood flow and collagen remodeling.
Accent RF treatments can create dramatic change without the need for invasive surgery or even topical anesthetics. Unlike lasers, it works on all skin types. An added benefit is that there is no downtime for the patient so you can quickly resume your normal routine.

Treatment Plan
You will have a consultation with a staff member at Intramed Cosmetics to discuss treatment. During treatment the area will be cleansed, and a lubricant such as baby oil applied. This will assist the hand piece in its movement. A rubbing technique is then employed using the hand piece, to enable rapid, safe and effective treatment. Typical sensation during the procedure is heat, which will build gradually and comfortably. The number of sessions and treatment times are dependant on the area being treated.

Post-Treatment
After the treatment, you will feel the skin tightening. You may also perceive an increase in blood flow or mild redness to the treated area. This is normal, and it will usually subside quickly. After a single session, measurable improvement in tightening will gradually appear over 2 to 6 months, as your collagen levels are replenished. However, many patients have reported an earlier response. Results will become more noticeable as time proceeds and treatments increase.
